Revenue Growth and Paid Social Media Ad Strategy for a Social Enterprise

Our client is a woman-owned and -operated social enterprise that produces fabric garments and travel bags.

Situation

Our client hopes to grow and scale the business primarily through an increased social media presence and partnership strategy. While the client maintained these priorities throughout the engagement, the need for a more formalized production strategy to keep up with increases in consumer demand also became apparent.

Challenge

The client’s overarching goal was to be able to increase revenue through various social media outlets and have a production strategy to accommodate that. The client was interested in growing its customer base by better understanding how to target certain demographics and using that data to optimize the social media advertisement spend. It’s important to note that the client lacked an inventory tracking system, which made growth potential difficult to calculate.

Approach

Our team worked to create a creative and targeted social media strategy through best practices research and organization-based data through Shopify and Facebook Analytics. With regards to the strategies implemented, we approached the three different areas of opportunity into social media, partnerships, and production to create a cohesive recommendation. The social media team focused on creating extensive guides and social media calendars by exploring new platforms such as Pinterest while also strengthening existing platforms such as Instagram, email, and Facebook ads. On a similar note, the partnership team created a database of 40 potential businesses and influencers with the goal of providing our client with a user-friendly guide to optimize engagement and awareness while also ensuring content is timely, mission-driven, and targeted towards a specific end-user.

Lastly, the production team focused on producing a guide for our client to implement a formalized inventory management system to be able to support the growing consumer base and subsequent demand.

Impact

With the tools and strategies we have created, our client is equipped to spread awareness of the mission of the business by increasing traffic to their social media pages. Specifically, our client emphasized the impact of understanding the importance of social media strategy through the collaboration with Rem and Company given the current landscape. By creating a wide variety of deliverables, our team ensured that the strategies and recommendations could be used by our client in both the short- and long-term. Our recommendations we believe will stimulate sales, growth, and knowledge of the current social media strategies.
