Social Media, Outreach and Business Optimization for a University Bakery

Situation: 

The biggest challenges that the small business faces are increasing brand awareness in their university community, building a go-to market strategy for their front-of-shop location, and strengthening customer retention practices.

Challenge: 

The biggest challenges our client faced were increasing brand awareness amongst the University population while improving their social media presence and consistency in posts in a simple and low cost way, as they are a non-profit with a small team and limited budget. Through the development of a business and social media strategy, their main objective was to attract more customers in their university and develop stronger customer-business relationships.

 Approach: 

The team developed a three-pronged approach to help our client with marketing, business development, and customer retention challenges

  1. The first prong involved creating a marketing strategy guidebook and brand identity deliverables for social media to increase brand awareness, such as a logo and customizable social media templates. 

  2. The second prong focused on business development strategies, including surveys to learn about the consumer base and competitive research resulting in a customer focused market report and a competitive pricing report. 

  3. The third prong aimed to improve customer retention and partnerships through a three-step outreach plan, including pre-made email templates for outreach, Client Leads Sheet and a Customer Loyalty Program to be implemented in the following semester. 

Impact:

The Rem and Company team provided deliverables to accomplish the client’s goal of increasing brand awareness in the university, while also optimizing their business in a way that attracts more clients. Our client now has a cohesive brand identity that will identify their products and guide their outreach process in a more efficient way. Additionally, our client is equipped with the resources to expand their social media presence and digital marketing efforts through the marketing strategy guidebook deliverable. Our client will be able to successfully attract more customers and become an established entity on the university campus as a result of the marketing, business development, and partnerships strategies that were proposed.
